Tuesday, May 4, 2010, was an auspicious day for Fredericksburg’s Good Samaritan Center, an “organization serving families
and individuals who live below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines and have no insurance. The mission of The Good Samaritan Center is to provide coordinated and affordable health and social services that minister to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the unserved and underserved in the Texas Hill Country,” according to their website.
The Rockbox Theater served as a venue for Julliard-trained and internationally acclaimed operatic tenor, Donald Braswell II, performing to help raise funds for the Good Samaritan Center. From the description on The Good Samaritan Center’s website, “Donald Braswell is
a man who has experienced a lot. He has been to the top, suffered huge setbacks, and thanks to unique blessing is at the top again.” Those who attended the performance were “in awe of his presentation,” stated one of the Fischer & Wieser employees who was fortunate enough to be present. To learn more about Donald Braswell, and see excerpts of his performances, go to www.donaldbraswell.com. Not only did he make it to the finals on the national television show “America’s Got Talent,” (from among 250,000 contestants), but he also performs in Las Vegas.
Pineapple Bourbon Tartlets, and Raspberry Chipotle Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies, enjoyed by the attendees during intermission.
Jenny Wieser, COO of Fischer & Wieser, and member of the 2010 Board of Directors of The Good Samaritan Center, commented that the entire evening was a stunning success. “Everyone truly enjoyed the performance by Donald Braswell, and the refreshments Fischer & Wieser was honored to provide rounded out the evening.”
Fischer & Wieser thanks all who made this event possible, and all who donated to help The Good Samaritan Center make their goal for 2010.
