Recently we were contacted by a wonderful lady named Blossom Landau who wanted to know if she could use our Mom’s Garlic & Basil Spaghetti Sauce with ground beef to make a meat sauce. She was planning a dinner with a special “young man” and she wanted everything to be “perfect!” We told her, of course she could use the Mom’s Sauce with ground beef–just brown it, pour in the sauce, let it simmer; cook the spaghetti al dente, mix up a tossed green salad–she wanted to know if she should use Italian dressing and we told her “of course,” again. Then she confirmed she’d also be serving a garlic bread accompaniment! Sounded wonderful to us!
After we discussed her menu and recipes, she volunteered that our Mom’s Garlic & Basil Spaghetti Sauce is “the best spaghetti sauce I’ve ever had, and I’m 86 years old and have eaten in the finest restaurants all over the world! I used to be a tour guide in Europe and elsewhere, and I had to go ‘try out’ the restaurants before I’d take my clients to eat in them. So I know what I’m talking about!”
She proceeded to tell us that she had been getting the sauce at one of the large box stores, but they’d stopped carrying it at the one near her—so she “went in there and gave the manager a piece of her mind”—and “they brought it back!”
